Hi,

I have two Tapo C425 cameras. One on the front of my house and one at the back.

Both are scheduled to enable privacy mode between 07:00-22:00 and then disable privacy mode 22:01-06:59.

I charged both cameras to 100% the same day, yet the camera at the front of house is at 29% battery and the one in the back of house is 69%.

What can be the underlying issue here that there is such a big difference in the battery?

Does the privacy mode just disable recording and notifications, but the motion sensor is still on and activates? It would definitely trigger more on the front house (29% battery) as we go through that door many time during the day and there is a awning there aswell that when its windy im sure it triggers the motion sensor. Also if it pick up cars driving by.

If this is the case, should I automate enable and disable motion sensor during that time period instead of privacy mode? If that is even possible. I don't really want this much differnce is battery drain.

  @KPTT

Camera won't be waked up in the privacy mode state and should have the lowest battery consumption.

Please check the information on this camera's Battery Status page. Observe the power consumption of the camera, whether it consumes power during privacy mode, and what the power consumption is like during other time periods. Check here for detailed troubleshooting suggestions. What to do if the battery drains quickly on my Tapo battery-powered camera/doorbell?

Is your camera linked with some third-party platforms? Such as the Home Assistant? Not long ago, a user reported a similar issue, which was found to be caused by integration with Home Assistant. After disconnecting, the camera's power consumption returned to normal. But this did not reoccur when he attempted to reconnect Home Assistant.

  @Wayne-TP

I will need to do a test with privacy mode enabled for full 24h and see if any battery or detection trigger is on during that time.

It is not connected to any other third-party platform

I did however check this. I checked this and the one that currently has 69% battery (back of the house) has last 7 days only 1 detection event triggers and 0 detections filtered by AI.

The one with 29% battery (front of the house) has in total last 7 days, 8 detection event triggers and 271(!) detections filtered by AI.

I assume the camera still wakes up with that AI filter?

Is there a way of seeing when these detection triggers happen? Like during what time.
