Model: Tapo TC72

Firmware Version:

Query 1:

I would like to know if there is a way to have a set schedule to record during the night, as well as when I am away from home.

I use the TC72 as an indoor camera in the living/kitchen area, so I do NOT want it to record when people are at home.

I have been able to create a "ON" and "OFF" shortcut for when I go out. But this seems to override the scheduling function (say if it was set to detection recording from 12-5am). I.e. the camera doesn't turn itself on come midnight.

Whilst I'm happy to press a button to activate when I go out or come home, I would like the camera to automatically switch on during the night.

How can this be achieved?

Query 2:

Is there a way to tell after selecting a shortcut, which selection was made? Whatever selected, the "buttons" are not highlighted on the widget or app home screen. How do I know if the camera is activated or not?? It would be really helpful if this is a feature (if it is already, please let me know).

Thanks!

Hi,
1. If you want to store the video recordings to an inserted SD card, on the Tapo app > camera's Device Settings > Storage & Recording > Recording Schedule page, you can set the recording schedule for your camera.

If you have subscribed to the Tapo Care service, the camera will record detection video clips and store them on our cloud server when it's working. If you want to turn on/off the camera's privacy mode automatically as per a schedule, you can add a Smart Action > Automation entry according to your needs.

2. Generally, after you press a shortcut entry, the camera will run the corresponding action, for example, turn on privacy mode, pan & tilt camera, etc., you can check what action the camera runs to know which shortcut entry takes effect.

Best Regards
