Do you hear any sound when watching the live stream? Check whether the doorbell is mute, try to increase the microphone volume.
And most importantly, make sure your phone is not silent.

Do you hear any sound from the doorbell side when you talk to it in the Tapo app, with either the Talk or Voice Call feature?
Check whether the doorbell's microphone is obstructed. Try tapping the microphone gently and see if you can hear anything on the phone (while doorbell live stream page is opened in the Tapo app).
Factory reset the doorbell and perform all the tests again, if the problem persists, it is probably a hardware issue, you can contact the retailer or local TP-Link support to proceed with the warranty.
