Hi,

Is it possible to create an automation based on the contact sensors state?

You can automate when it changes but what if you want to do something depending on the state it is in.

Example. If I have a Window open all day, I would like to get a notification if the sensor is still in open state, after sunset.

You can see the state of the sensor in the app (it's either open or closed or open for more than 1 minute) but you can't seem to automate an action based on that state.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks in advance.

Did you try to use the IF condition? T110's open/close state is available as an option in automation If condition. For your scene, an automation like this might help.

[When] At Sunset

[If] T110 is open

[Then] Send notification

Perfect! Thank you.

Just tested this for a specific time and it works fine.

Cheers
