Massive battery drain TC82 camera.
Camera went from working perfectly, to dropping from 30 percent battery to 5 percent in the space of 24 hour or so.
Since recharging it has dropped an average of 10 percent per day.
Was installed in October and was perfect until a few days ago.
It now doesn't detect anyone either. I can be walking in front of it and it won't notify me of an event and has not recorded an event either.
Looking for assistance as it is just over 2 months old.

I've given up and returned it for a refund. No amount of resetting, changing settings etc worked. I think it's to do with the update it did when I installed it as other cameras I have work absolutely fine.

@BarryA I am still discussing it via email with a rep. I am hoping that now the holidays are over, the troubleshooting will speed up.
Not solved yet though.

Request firmware 1.0.21 to be pushed to your camera. This is the version I have after a detection notification issue, and since this one the battery has massively improved as well. I'm roughly using 2% battery with 30 mins time of use and 100 detections (solar charge adds about 0.5% battery at the moment). Although recently it was as high as 7% a day which was weird but settled again after being plugged in to a power bank and going to 100% charge.

@Adam-G thanks Adam. I will keep that in mind if and when I hear back.

@GumperP Hi, I've had similar issues. Mine is model: TC82, 1.0. Firmware v: 1.0.23. It's been installed since Nov 2024 and the battery remained steady up to the recent firmware update. Since that update, the battery has consistently lost 1% daily. It's 74% today, so it'll drain to 0 by next May, which is ahead of the standard 180 days. Have you updated yours and then experienced the dramatic decreases in power? I haven't altered a thing between steady power (Nov 2024 to Jan 2025) and daily reductions of 1%. The only difference has been the firmware update.

@ClareM I suspect it's the recent firmware update. Not sure how to fix, but it seems a lot of us in these comments have that update in common with decrease in power

@NMM1 I have been emailing back and forth with a support agent.
They have stated a new firmware has been pushed to the camera, but it was completely dead battery wise. We also had a storm so I have only been able to retrieve it and place it on charge today.
Hopefully I can fit it in place again later and see if it made a difference.

@GumperP What email did you use to request technical intervention and a firmware update?
