In the Tapo app, you can now use geo-fencing (beta). I’ve tried it out, but I’ve run into a limitation or potential design flaw. Perhaps one of you has a solution for this.

When I link one or more actions to arriving at or leaving our location, I can specify whether these actions should be triggered when this phone or tablet enters or leaves the area. But how do you configure this for multiple people in your household?

I’ve enabled the option on multiple phones, but the result is that it doesn’t work when only one person enters the area—it only triggers when all of us are entering or leaving at the same time. That’s a bit inconvenient.

In the app I use for my heating system (Tado, not Tapo), you can add household members, and it tracks where everyone is (in or outside the location). If the last person leaves the area, the heating turns off. When one of us returns, the heating turns back on.

It would be great if the Tapo app could work like that. Or is this already possible, and I’m overlooking something?
