Hi All

 

I have a C210 connected to my wifi network (Deco x68 - 3 node with ethernet backhaul).

 

Prior to this I was using a C200 that developed the same issue. These cameras were positioned about 2m from the main X68 node (ie should not be any issues with wifi).

 

I run AgentDVR and have this setup to record activity on a network drive for motion detection from about 4 different cameras (c210/tc70).

 

When I try and access this one camera it comes up with the "it looks like you've reached your device limit for playing this video. Tap to retry"

 

I had the same issue with my C200 previously and I replaced it with the C210.

 

When I access the camera through AgentDVR's Web browser interface I can see/control the camera.

 

My other cameras don't have this issue (3x C210 and 2x TC70 - although I think only the TC70s are set to record on agent dvr - the other c210s are loaded into agentdvr for surveillance but aren't set to record in agentdvr)

 

Any advice to bypass this would be appreciated/

Hi,
The Tapo cameras have limitations on number of the devices to stream the camera. For local viewing, typically no more than 3 devices can watch the camera live feed at the same time. If any devices are viewing the camera through ONVIF or RTSP protocols, each of those connections will also count toward the local viewing limit.

 

In your case, it's suggested to check:
 1. How many devices are viewing the camera at the same time? Please be careful not to exceed the limit mentioned above.
 2. You can try restarting the camera and then check whether you can watch it via the Tapo app.

Hi thank you for the reply.

Regarding your suggestions

1. is there a way to check how many devices are logged into the device at any one time?  In any case it is only the one linux server running agentdvr that is constantly connected.  the only other person with access to the account is my wife and I know she is not trying to view it at the same time.  It is not someone else because not sure why they would want to log into a camera that I have put in my roof cavity because it keeps coming up with this error - I am sure there are more interesting streams available to watch.

2. I reset the camera, it works for a few hours-days then the same problem comes back.

 

My suggestions for TP-Link would be

1. provide a portal to access the cameras from PC (ideally software based - not browser based)

2. if someone is trying to log onto a stream have the option for an admin password that allows you to kick other viewers from the stream or at the very least provide a log of the ip addresses that are accessing the stream

3. if you cant change point 2 then at least make it the oldest sign in gets kicked and the newest sign in is allowed access rather than preserving the old log in and rejecting the new login.

Hi,
1. Currently, it's unable to find how many client devices are streaming the camera at any one time. Usually, only the person who knows your TP-Link account can log in to the Tapo app to watch the camera's live feed, and only the person who knows the camera account can establish the RTSP/Onvif connection. If you worry about other people streaming your camera, please change the password of the TP-Link account and camera account to prevent your accounts.
