Model: Tapo P110
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.0 build 230905

I have 2 x P110 smart plugs that now will not switch the power off.

The app says the plugs are off but they are still feeding power. I used the manual power switch but, although it made a click noise, it did not turn off the power.

I checked both plugs were the latest firmware and then factory reset them, having to add them to the app again

Didn't make a difference. Still can't turn off the power. You hear the click on the app but makes no difference to the power feed.

Any suggestions to fix this because I'm at a loss?

  @Huntly

Double-check if the appliance exceeds the limit of the smart plug. Long-term overloads can easily cause plug damage.

You can try to leave the device unplugged for a while before continuing to use it. Unplug it from power and gently tap one of its sides to a level surface, try several times until it returns to work.

If the problem persists, contact local TP-Link support for further assistance.

  @Wayne-TP

"Tapping" the plug against something is not a professional way to deal with this issue... especially for an electrical device.

  @Wayne-TP Anyone suggesting that you tap them on a table to release the relay is giving you suicidally dangerous advice. A relay that is sticking is a relay that can't be sure to turn an electrical item off. It is also one that leaves circuits live when you think you have turned them off.

IF THE RELAY STICKS SEND IT BACK - if it is out of warrantee then just stop buying TAPO power products because the relays they use are simply not suitable. I have never switched more than half an amp with mine - I mainly use them for monitoring things like computers and TVs - yet they are constantly liable to fail.... I average about 2 failures a year out of my collection of about a dozen. These devices are not safe. :(
