How can I reduce Tapo C500 detection interval from 60 seconds to 20 seconds?

A period of 60 seconds is too long for me and I like to save some disk space....

Hi,
Based on the information we have about the Tapo C500, there is no detection interval. How do you test that the detection interval is 60s?

Many thanks for your response.

Maybe, I used "detection interval is "a wrong term".

What I meant was

the default record time length that a video continues recording after that a movement is not detected any more.

Currently,  my C500 triggers recording 6 seconds before a detection and stops after 60 seconds (when no more movement detected).

Can we reduce this 60 seconds to a shorter period e.g. 20 seconds.

Hi,
Thank you for your detailed explanation, however, there is no option to adjust the time you mentioned. In this situation, you can start a new thread here to request this feature for the camera.

Many thanks for your response.

I am a little surprised about missing this feature, as it can save a lot of space on the disk.

Actually, this feature does exist for another similar product of yours

Hi,

Our battery-powered cameras such as Tapo C420, C425 do have a feature called "Clips Settings>Record Buffer" to adjust the time the camera will keep recording when motion is no longer detected, and the main purpose is to save the camera's battery power, therefore, this option is not available for the normally powered cameras.
Thank you for your feature request here, I'll log it and forward it to the relevant team to evaluate, and you can also start a new thread here to request this feature for the Tapo C500.

Best Regards
