Kasa Matter version product, duplicate in google home
I'm recently adding Kasa's new matter-supported products such as the dimmer switch or smart plug.
For example this KS220,
If I add it through the Matter code in Google Home, I can use the dimmer function in Google Home directly.
then, I opened the Kasa app and added this product, since my Kasa has linked to Google Home, it syncs automatically to GH. But only provided an on/off function on the GH app.
Finally, it turned out there are two device icons shown in the Google Home App.
One resource is through Matter, and the other one through Kasa.
The device added through Matter seems to be better but I do need it in the Kasa app as well to generate some automative action associated with old Kasa products.

When you added a device through Matter, did you put the device in another room? According to Google's requirements, Cloud-to-cloud devices can only be deduplicated when they are associated with a particular structure (home) in the Google Home app.

An update on this topic. After conducting thorough tests, it has been observed that when the same device added to Google Home via Matter and synchronized from Kasa is placed in the same room, duplicates are successfully removed.
And I also learned from the specialist, that the latest test results from moderator @habcsky also confirm successful removal of duplicates.
Therefore, we speculate that this might be a glitch with the Google Home App. If anyone encounters a similar situation, we recommend contacting Google support for assistance as a priority,

@Wayne-TP thanks for replying
when i add the product in GH app thru Matter method, the device firstly will be classified into "waiting for assigning the room".
same as Kasa synchronization, once there is a new device added in Kasa, then open GH app, at the bottom of device list, the new device will show there waiting to be assigned a room.

What if you put one of them into a room first? Is the other one still there?
What happens if you assign them to the same room? Do you still see two device?

Hi Wayne, yes I tried set it up via Matter first and assign it to a room in GH app.
After added it in Kasa app, I notice there is a same device but less functions( e.g dimmer bar) showing up in GH app with no room assigned yet, when I click in it tells this one is synced from Kasa. and even I put them in one same "room", it still shown as two separate things.
thanks
ps, I'm wondering so far no one has ever use Kasa Matter certified product with this problem? It happened on both of my Kasa Matter smart plug and dimmer switch.

Not long ago I have faced same issue on smart plug KP125M,

I'm actually referring to the Google hub that is compatible with Matter, such as the WiFi router, Speaker, or the Display devices. Google devices with Matter
