Yep, got the same issue. Seems very strange that you can't purchase spare batteries.

Same exact issue for me. Would like a couple of spare batteries for my 4 cameras.

It's annoying, still no sign of the batteries
Compounded by the fact the "180† day life" is no-where near reality.
14 days to 25%. A spare battery would come in hand...
From their website:
†180-day battery life is from TP-Link's laboratory. Actual battery life may vary based on device settings, use, and environmental factors.
Translates as "only if it's switched off".
I mean, how difficult can it be, to sell separately, the same batteries you sell with the cameras?

@Bunter Absolutely. One of mine is by the garden door and a tree triggers it constantly (mainly due to the windy conditions we have had for the past few weeks). It barely lasts 4 straight days. Not having spare batteries is a real pain and will be a major decision-maker if I come to replace them.

@LewisB I'm in Australia and I did a Google search and found retailers that sell it so have ordered 2 Yay!
Amazon AU didn't have any so maybe expand your search for online retailers in the U.S?
All the best!

Thanks for the response. The only location (aside from UK Amazon) I could find was in Australia - and they don't ship to the US. I'll just have to wait. I'm also waiting on the Tapo Doorbell camera, supposedly to be released in Q4 of 2023. I suppose it is worth the wait. I'm very impressed with the video cameras and software performance. And yes, the first time around I thought that the battery performance would be horrible. However, I found that once I stopped "dinking around" with the system and just let it run, the batteries are holding pretty well. I Last charged them (4 cameras) on June 14. The have been running since then (now July 10) and they have dropped to 80% (worst) to 87% (best). They are not going to last the advertised 6 months, but they might go 4-5 months - I'm ok with that performance. The whole reason I want a spare battery is so that I can have a spare charged up and only have to go up/down the ladder once to do a swap. I'm actually doing that now by takiing 1 camera off line, charging the battery then doing a swap for the remaining 3, so it's not too big of a deal.

@Bunter I do not know if anyone is still having problems finding out how or where to buy the battery.
I did a search with the product name, Tapo A 100, and found it on amazon.nl. Here is the direct link.

If you live in another country, you can search for it in the amazon online store specific to your country or just search by its name in a search engine like Google
to see the closest place to you where it is sold.
Cheers.

@Solla-topee, the batteries are now sold separately. You can search for them on Amazon or other stores in your country. Please see my response at https://community.tp-link.com/en/smart-home/forum/topic/592506?replyId=1245464
