Does anyone have upwards of 20 smart plug working in their house?

I have spent hundreds of dollars on another brand and after 10 plugs, it just didn't scale.  Constant inability for the app to talk to various plugs (random) when trying to turn on/off.

I'm good with replacing all these and want to know if TP-Link is a better brand for this kind of issue.

BTW, I'm an IT professional so I've done a lot of due dilligence on troubleshooting this - set up separate SSIDs, tried various security settings, bands, statically assigned channels to my APs, removed all but one AP - the other solution just sucks, and I believe it's the app.  It doesn't seem to poll long enough when you start it, so half the time it only gets you about 10 or so working APs out of the pool.  Very, very aggravating.

How's TP-Link for this?  I'm also evaluating/considering WeMo.

Thanks,
