Model: KL130
Hardware Version: V20
Firmware Version:

I'm a newbee to Kasa devices and just installed my first KL130 and everything works as expected.  I have in integrated in to Alexa so I can now voice command it.  Question, I notice in my router that the bulb is using 2 IP addresses:

192.168.1.24
42:3B:6A:35:CE:FE

192.168.1.165
84:D8:1B:0F:90:E9

I plan to buy additional bulbs and devices.  If I buy 10 more bulbs, will that suck up 20 more IP addresses?

Thanks!

BruceC

@bachastain I don't have a KL130 to verify, but I do have an LB130 and it's not using multiple IP addresses.  Those MACs are competely different, usually they'll be close or even sequential when devices are manufactured togther.  How are you able to tell both are from the KL130?

@MikeP

Now I'm not sure.  One of the IPs disappeared.  I was watching the router pages to see what IPs are in use.  Both disappeared when I turned the bulb off and both came back when I turned the bulb on.  Both IPs were pingable.

It may have been a fake device used only during setup of the bulbs.  I'll watch and see if it comes back.

Thanks.

Bruce.
