Tapo P100 Timed Auto-Off Function - fw ver 1.4.5
Hi,
I have a TP-Link Kasa plug and I'm wondering if the same functionality is coming to the Tapo P100, or whether it's there and I'm missing something?
I have a Smart Action set up in Kasa to turn the plug off after 30 minutes, it doesn't matter what I use to turn the plug on 30 minutes later it's off, which is perfect.
Is there a way of doing this in the Tapo app with the P100, if not, is it planned?
Many Thanks.

@Solla-topee Some plugs like the new P100M with Matter state "Auto-Off – Automatically turns off a connected device after the device is left on for a set time."
Does it mean these new models have the feature but it won't be backported to the P100 and P110?
Also, it looks like the P115 V1 doesn't have the feature while the P115 V1.2 has it, at least according to their official websites.

Hi,
The old Tapo plug models will support the Auto-Off feature via the firmware updates in the future, however, we don't have any specific details that I can share about when this feature can come to the product.
For the Tapo plugs that do not support the Auto-Off Timer feature now, you can go to the Tapo app>Smart tab to add an Automation entry to turn off the plug after a specific time once it's turned on.
How to create Smart Action (automation or a shortcut) of my Tapo devices?
Best Regards

@Solla-topee Thanks, I use that Smart Action but I believe it's a cloud feature and won't work offline with no Internet or WiFi, so I can't "trust" it.
The shutdown timer, however, works even with WiFi down (tested it), but it has to be enabled manually every time.

@Solla-topee By the way, regarding Smart Actions and if they're local or not. Some TP-Link websites state that if you have the H100 hub, Smart Actions will be local, it was even a selling point for the hub. However, that text have been removed from some pages which leads me to think they've silently removed the feature. I asked about it in reddit but got no reply yet.

Hi,
1. Tapo H100 offers a Sub-GHz wireless network, and the Tapo smart plugs and bulbs support the standard 2.4G Wi-Fi network can't connect to it.
2. Currently, the Tapo H100 does not support the local smart action feature, and it's planned to support this feature via firmware updates in the future, however, I don't have any specific details that I can share about when this feature can come to the product.
3. About the information displayed on the Tapo UK website, I have forwarded it to the related team to evaluate and correct it.
Best Regards

Also interested in that feature, any updates? Would also love to see matter support for the hub.
