Feature request - Gradual wake up mode on smart bulbs
The Tapo L510E bulb is a great bit of kit.
I purchased this bulb, as I was looking at getting a light up alarm clock, for the dark winter mornings. I didn't buy one, as they were so expensive, and I only wanted the light function...I didn't need DAB, bluetooth etc etc.
I read around, and some people recommended using smart bulbs as an alternative, hence me purchasing the Tapo bulb.
It's been working really well, however, it can be a bit of a choir to set it up for my morning wake up. It also not a smooth wake up, as you have to set the light to come on in brightness incroments, which is can be quite jerky.
I think it would really be a benefit to the product if it had a wake up mode i.e. set it to light up gradually 30min before you want to wake up, with smooth brightness transitions to your final wake up brightness. This would then make the bulb and ideal alterntive to the crazyily expensive light up alarm clocks.

Good day,
Thank you very much for your kind feedback.
It is very brilliant.
I would report the feedback to the senior engineers for further evaluation.
Hope we can see it very in the future.
If anyone who had the same idea, please feel free to follow this post.
Thanks a lot.

@Brook Hello! Yes chiming in to say I bought this bulb for this reason, but I see now it's only a KASA feature. Please add it :) And please ask engineers to provide some HASS.io info so the community can develop home automation integrations for the TAPO line.
Thanks :)

Seems like "I would report the feedback to the senior engineers for further evaluation." is the standard answer.
IF they had any serious plans to add this feature, they would have done it by now. So I'm afraid I have to say: Its not gonna happen, unfortunetly
Hopefully I'm wrong.

@KalleKat They never had any intention of adding this feature, they just plicate the request to make it seem like they have been helpful.
Despite not officially having the feature, I have successfully set this up within the bulbs individual schedule mode. It takes a bit of time to set up, but once done it works well.
I usually get up at around 7am, so I set the smart bulb to come on at 6.30 am with 2% brightness. I then increase the brightness incrementally every 5 mins or so until i reach the desired wake up brightness of 50% (100% is too harsh). You can set 20 scheduled items per bulb. I think I have set 15 brightness actions from 6.30am to 6.55am, then have set the light to go off at like 8am after I have left the house.
It's a pain to set up, but once done it works well and really helped me waking up in the winter.

Hi, I bought these bulbs because I thought they had a gradual light intensity setting for the morning.
It would be the perfect morning setting to have, especially in the winter when the sunrise setting is too late.
