Hi,

 

I always get the message "Install VLC plugin to watch streaming" via the web interface of the IP Cam TL-SC4171G when called by all common browsers (Edge, IE, FF, Chrome), although this plugin was installed long ago during the installation of VLC 3.0.11.

 

So I can't watch an mpeg4 stream from the TL-SC4171G with the WebIF on any of these browsers.

Why is the VLC plugin not recognized?

P.S.: Sorry, there obviously is a bug related to the MODEL field above, because one cannot enter "TL-SC4171G".

May I know where are you located and where did you purchase this camera?

Can you still view the IP camera remotely via a web browser, such as https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/304/?

Have you ever tried our own camera control utility

if possible, please try to turn off the windows firewall and put the windows into safe mode and try again: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/791/
