Tried solution already mentioned and it worked. Try this:

Go to camera settings, change the checked timezone to any other, then check again your timezone, then click save and reboot the camera. This worked for me :)

 

Dont forget to check notifications from mobile and the tapo app.

6. Make sure the 'Detection & Alerts' are back on and done! Push notifications should be working now!

Hi, cannot speak for Apple, but Android maybe. What Android version are you using ?? Does it have its own EMUI ? [like Huawei/Honor] My issues were very similar on my Honor 10 running Android 10 EMUI 10. I had to got Settings>Apps>Apps> then Options click for ''Special Access'' where you'll find the battery optimisation. Find Tapo and click to change to Not Allowed. You'll get a ''this app will drain your battery..'' blurb, OK to that. I reboot phone after as good measure. Mine has been much much better since I found this. Good luck.

Android 10 has many many new settings. I found out as I have Android 10 on my Honor. They are a real pain and break the Tapo app if not set right. It may be theat the battery saver is stopping your app running in the background. Check ; Settings>Apps>Apps>>click the 3dots for options and press 'Special Access' and at the top is Battery Optimisation. Find Tapo, and make it Not Allowed. You'll get a warning about the power drain etc, thats fine. It will then allow tapo to always run and then will ping you the alerts as the app wont sleep. Do check also Notifications within the main settings too. Enable those like Motion Detected, Area Intrusion Detection, device Activity, Person Detected etc to your preference. Good luck.

When the notifications do not work if your on remote access (not wifi) deleting the the Cache memory helps (settings, Apps) , but you have to do this every time after a notification.

@Bitten Is the camera saving recordings to the sd card upon movement ?    If you set the camera 'Alarm' does is buzz with motion ? 

 

Samsings are like Huawei with many settings.   Find my earlier post about the 'Special Access' feature.  Also You must have a phone Theme set, to open the EMUI properly.   Sounds daft, but whilst I was investigating mine, I read Samsung users having the same issues and solved in the same way.

Then there are many ways of making sure notifications come through.    Make sure notifications are set accordingly in your phones OS.   Enable Banners, Allow Interruptions etc.  Reboot phone once changes made.     How has that all worked out ?

I have purchased 4 C210 cameras which worked for for 2 days with movement notifications, now nothing.Everything that needs switching on is on and have tried all solutions in this thread but has not worked. This seems to be an issue for sometime. These were to replace foscam cameras I had for many years  but was never quite happy with them, speed of connections and app facilities.  These Tapo cams fit my need until now. The most important thing is notifications. As said tried all in thread and settings are as they should be, so come on Tp-link what is the solution to this long term problem. If not resolved soon all 4 cameras will be sent back.

Hi guys,

 

I just bought a C200 ... I would say 3 hours ago. Completed the initial setup, everything went great. Set it to away mode and the notifications started coming in, with videos saved onto the sd card. After about 2 hours browsing through the settings I've reached the update option, so I went on and updated the firmware to 1.1.8 and that killed all notifications for me.

Firmware version 1.1.8

Hw version 1.0

Phone: Iphone XR

 

TP-link I want to go back to the previous Firmware, please enable the option for that or fix the issue, I'm quite sure this is on you not on my phone's settings as nothing has changed since it worked, apart from the camera firmware update, please stop investigating peoples phone settings, It's obvious this is a firmware issue.
