LB100 won't firmware upgrade via KASA app
LB100 won't firmware upgrade via KASA app. I've successfully reset it. Didnt' help. I didn't have this problem with an identical bulb of same version and same app. This bulb will not update via KASA app on IOS. The bulb responds to commands etc but will NOT update its firmware.
What now? Is there another way to upgrade this bulb?

Grabbed a zip from elsewhere and used that instead. Found all devices. Then the firmware upgrade failed.
Read a note about the httpport being wrong. Someone else had edited file data\config.json and changed httpport to 9999.
This fixed it. Upgrade succeeded. Confirmed in Kasa app as well.

For the LB100 V1, the latest firmware should be 1.8.6.
Try to download the upgrade tool to update the firmware manually.
For Windows:http://support.tp-link.com/f/6ec140c111/?dl=1
For Mac:http://support.tp-link.com/f/e9f499b682/?dl=1
May it help.

The device is responding to commands from alexa etc. I can ping the device on my wireless network from my windows PC.
It still cannot be upgraded using the app and your tool said 0 devices found.
I'm using the Australian version of the LB100.
I think your tool is looking for the US version.

It is an universal tool software, so it is compatible with the AU version.
Please ensure that the LB100 and your computer connect to the same network; you can verify the IP address of the LB100 and the computer to confirm it.
For the IP of the computer, you can refer to https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/838/
Besides, what is the current KASA app version? And can you see the firmware update notification on the app?

Tool didn't find any devices. Any further ideas?
I can ping the device on my wireless network from my windows PC. This means the windows machine can access the bulb via the network. Its on the same network. Because I can ping the device I know its IP address.
I don't have this issue with the other bulb.
