Where can I find detection recordings of Tapo & Kasa cameras on the Tapo app?

This article will introduce the steps of finding and watching the detection recordings of the Tapo & Kasa cameras on the Tapo app.

To find and watch the detection recordings of a camera, please ensure it has enabled the Detection feature. Below are the instructions to set up the Detection feature on the camera.
How to use the Detection function of the Tapo & Kasa cameras?

If you have subscribed to the Tapo Care service.

Option 1.

Tap the camera on the Tapo app > Home tab to enter its Live View page, then go to Playback & Download > Playback page, select date, and tap the Cloud icon to view its detection video clips.

Option 2.

Go to the Tapo app > Cameras tab > Activity Center page, select the date, and you can see all your cameras’ detection video clips stored on the cloud server on that date.
However, if you tap the Filter icon at the top right corner, you can filter the video clips according to the camera’s device name and activities.

If you have inserted a microSD card into the camera to store video recordings.

1. Tap the camera on the Tapo app > Home tab to enter its Live View page, then tap the icon at the top right corner to enter its Device Settings page.

2. Go to the Storage & Recording page:
    1) Enable the Local Recording feature.
    2) Ensure the microSD Card state is good on the Local Storage page.
    3) Go to the Recording Schedule page, tap Edit at the top right corner, set the detection recording schedule, and click the tick icon to save your changes.

3. Go to the camera's Live View > Playback & Download > Playback page, select the date, tap the SD card icon, and then you can view the detection recordings.
