Hi,

I successfully managed to access the video stream with VLC with the URL given in another thread:
http://admin:YWRtaW4=@nc200:8080/stream/getvideo
This works fine - much better than with other manufacturers that fail to provide a platform neutral access to the video stream.

But sadly I failed to see the audio track (from the builtin microphone) in this stream.
How can I access it remotely (preferably via VLC)?

Thank you!
Herbert

Cannot access it remotely via VLC.
How to remotely view it? You can check this guide.

I use the VLC player and follow the stream with this URL http://admin:YWRtaW4=@nc200:8080/stream/getvideo
See http://forum.tp-link.com/showthread.php?81011-Accessing-nc200-stream for the source of this URL.

Since the video (with audio) is supposed to be streamed through a website with varying users and devices, it is not acceptable to use a custom browser plugin (as described in the above FAQ entry).

This is an IP Video Camera. I have to admit, that I just trusted TP-Link to provide platform neutral access to the output (video + audio) of this device.

I am still full of hope that there is a way to access the video stream with audio through http.

Thank you for your time.

Herbert, NC200 is not an IP camera but a cloud camera.
As I said, you can follow the instruction to access it remotely. We cannot access it remotely via VLC.

Sorry - I did not intend to refer to a specific technical term (IP / cloud) - both are informal ones, I assume.
But in fact the NC200 really is an IP-based camera. At least I am able to talk to it over the Internet Protocol (IP), specifically IPv4. Sorry for my potential confusing wording.

I am sorry for repeating myself: this is not an option for my use case since the users and their computers will change on a daily base and I cannot force all of them to install additional software just for viewing a simple camera stream. Security policies of business computers would also probably just prevent this from the start.
Additionally I just noticed that https://www.tplinkcloud.com/download.php does not offer a web plugin for Linux systems. Thus the web plugin would not even be a theoretical option. This is quite a surprise for me.

Maybe I did not express myself clearly: I am successfully watching the JPEG stream of the NC200 camera right now via VLC ( http://admin:YWRtaW4=@nc200:8080/stream/getvideo).
Thus half of the mission is accomplished.

The problem is just that this stream does not contain the audio track of the internal microphone.

Please advise me how to access the audio stream.

Thank you!
Herbert
