Generally, when the phone is switched to Do Not Disturb mode, you will not receive any push notifications or call alerts, even while using your phone. During this time, all new notifications will be automatically silenced and stored in the background, unless you actively check the hidden notifications or exit Do Not Disturb mode.

Now many phones provide options to allow exceptions in the Do Not Disturb mode, users can choose if they want to receive calls, messages, app notifications, alarms, or sounds during Do Not Disturb mode (supported features vary from different phone brands and models).

If you want to receive critical alerts from the Tapo app when your Android phone is in Do Not Disturb mode, make sure to add the Tapo app to the allowed list. In this article, we have gathered relevant settings information from a variety of smartphone brands and models for your reference.

If you failed to add the Tapo app to the allowed list with the above method, please access Critical Alerts and enable Override Do Not Disturb/Allow interruptions.

Note 

Xiaomi does NOT support adding an app to the allowed list in Do Not Disturb mode. If you want to receive critical alerts with sound/vibration and visible pop-up notifications, please turn off Do Not Disturb on your Xiaomi phone.
