Hello team !

I'd like to know how it is possible to trigger manually the alarm.

Imagine I left home for the day without activating the alarm, and I receive a notification because someone was detected. How can I trigger the alarm manually ?

Other question, notifications are configured in the "detection" menu. But I would like to only receive notifications when the alarm is activated. Is it possible and how ?

Thank you all !

Sly

Hi,
1. Since the Tapo C520WS supports the Play Sound action on the Smart Action feature, you can add a Shortcut entry to let the camera Play Sound(Alarm) when needed.
How to create Smart Action (Automation or Shortcut) on the Tapo app

2. If you want the camera to alarm and send notifications simultaneously when detecting events, you can enable the camera's Detection, Notification, and Alarm feature as per your need.
If you want the camera to send a notification when the alarm is activated manually, the Tapo camera currently does not support this feature. You can start a new thread here to request the new feature with the detailed usage scenario.

Best Regards

@Solla-topee thanks for your feedback !

1. When going to Smart menu and trying to create a simple action to trigger alarm, it says there is no device available whereas my caméra is connected and available

2. This is not exactly what I want. Asking differently, is it possible to have different notifications whether the alarm is activated or not.

> One notification when the camera detects someone and alarm is not activated

> Another notification (different sound) when the camera detects someone and alarm is activated

Many thanks for your help

1. I was able to do it, using Shortcuts and not Recommended in Smart menu.

2. I have no idea on how to do it

Hi,
1. Glad to hear that you find the correct steps to add the Shortcut entry. yes

2. Tapo cameras currently do not support the feature to meet your usage scenario.

That seems weird... Being able to receive notifications only when alarm is activated seems to be obvious (or maybe I missed something).

Or having different configurations when alarm is activated or not.

In my example, I would like to be notified only when alarm is active, but I can't and I receive notifications even when I'm at home, when wife, kids or myself are detected by the camera .

Hi,
I have one question, does the "when alarm is activated" in the post mean the camera alarm automatically after turning on the Alarm feature on the Device Settings page, or does it mean you trigger the camera to play sound manually via the Shortcut entry?

Nothing to see with manually trigger.

The notifications are configured to be sent when detecting someone.

It is sent when someone is detected, no matter if alarm is enabled (siren + light)  or not.

I would like the notification to be sent on my phone ONLY if alarm is enabled (siren + light).

Notification is configured in ad-hoc menu ("détection" on the left). It is ALWAYS sent when someone is detected, even if I'm at home.

I'd like it tonbe sent ONLY if alarm is active (surrounded button).

Is there a way to do it ?

Hi,
Please note that the camera's Notification and Alarm are independent features. It's unable to limit the notification feature to work only when the alarm feature is enabled.
