Hello

 

I am assisting family members in setting up a C510W camera outdoors. Initially, the setup was fine and the camera performed exactly as expected. At some point (perhaps a month after initial installation), the audio became extremely poor. There is loud crackling and it is impossible to make out speech at times. Further, the recordings saved to the sd card only save audio for the first 9 minutes, the rest of the recording does not have audio.

 

I have ensured the latest firmware (1.1.2) is installed, I have done a factory reset, adjusted all settings to attempt to fix it. Nothing has helped. Eventually, we bought another unit and installed it. The exact same issue occurred on a brand new unit. I even tried an alternative mains power supply to rule out power-line interference.

 

We now have 2 cameras that have unusable audio. Both are well within their warranty window. Please assist.

Hi, 
You may try the following troubleshooting suggestions:
    1. Make sure that there are no obstructions covering the microphone and speaker openings on the camera.
    2. Confirm the microphone and speaker volume of the camera are set at a high level on our app.
    3. Ensure the camera is positioned to allow clear and unobstructed sound reception. Avoid placing it in enclosed spaces or near surfaces that may reflect sound.
    4. Please ensure the Tapo app is up to date.
   
Please confirm the following information if the problem remains.
    1. Send me a video showing the reported audio quality issue. You can upload the video to your cloud server(such as Google Drive), generate a link to download it and send me(@Solla-topee) the link via a private message.

    2. Please refer to the instructions below to collect the camera log for further analysis.

  @Avdw today I start to Have the same issue first in one câmera and after in obter câmera of the same model!! Any recomendation?

Hi, I have performed the troubleshooting suggestions, but they have not improved the situation. I will send a video and the logs as soon as I have access to the camera again. Thank you
