Model: Tapo H200  
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.5.1

I have just purchased two H200 Hubs and one D230S1 doorbell (plus some cameras, sensors etc). The doorbell is 'connected' to Hub 1.  I would like both Hubs to chime when the doorbell is pressed. 

 

I can get Hub 1 to chime when I select 'Ring connected Hub" in the doorbell to On.  

 

To get both to chime I set up a smart automation following these instructions: https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/faq/3919/ 
 

When I create and run a smart automation to ring Hub2 if the doorbell is pressed it did not work.  I then swictched of the ring connected hub on Hub1 and tried to set up an automation on that and this did not work either.  I then tried to test an automation of one of my smart lightbulbs (L510) for that to come on if the doorbell was pressed and that did not work either. 

 

I have checked and all my firmware is uptodate. 

I have tried all the suggestions in this FAQ: https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/faq/3997/

I have tested signal strength and for all devices that are connected to the Hub this ranges from -40dB up to -12dB so it should be fine. 

I can control both Hubs from the Tapo App and get them to ring directly.

When I look at the event log for the Hubs, it is empty.  This might suggest that the automation is not even trying to trigger the Hubs to chime?

 

Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

Is there any unusual LED activity on the doorbell/hub? Do they both show a green light? Check whether you can manage the doorbell and the hub remotely, e.g. when the phone uses cellular data. Smart Action is mainly a cloud feature, it won't work if the smart devices are disconnected from the cloud. 

 

Try to restart the hub and the your router. 

 

Does the automation run if you use other smart devices? For example, turn on bulb A when bulb B turns off. 

 

What are the hardware and firmware versions of your D230 and the H200s?
