TC41 Recording Duration

Since the last firmware update, the minimum duration of SD card recordings has been extended from 13 to 62 seconds. This is a lot of "nothing" to watch after an event.
I see from another post that this has been done before.

Why does the time need to be so long? Could it be made a user-configured parameter?

We recommend raising a feature request for this feature. If other users share the same thought, they can vote for the post and join the discussion. Same Issue.
Initial firmware 241111 had a long duration - at least 60 seconds.additional time - this was identified as a problem.
This was fixed with firmware 240927 - about 12 seconds additional time - good outcome.
Now with firmware 250228 we are back to 60+ seconds - what's going on?
Why have things suddenly gone backwards in efficiency?
The amount of time and storage wasted recording nothing of interest is seriously bad.
This includes older clips being written over way too early.
Can we, please, go back to firmware 240927 until a proper fix is available ?
This is really not a 'feature request' it is a request to reinstate a feature that was previously provided
but has now been removed for no apparent reason.

Further to my previous post, can we please have the option of 'short' video clips?
In my case, one camera frequently records around 450 clips in a 24 hour period and the action in most of these is relatively short.
This means that the camera is recording around 7 to 8 hours of useless video each 24 hour period.
I recognize that there are strong different opinions on this subject.
So, the best solution would seem to be to allow users to select the length of additional recording time to be added to each clip after detection ceases.
This could be an option in the camera's 'Storage and Recording' screen with an integer, say, between 0 and 60 seconds.
It would be appreciated if something could be done about this quickly as historical clips are being over-written way too early.

Further to the above (again) I have just noticed another post entitled:
'Why do my Tapo Cameras have short video clips stored on the SD card after firmware update?"
This refers, of course, to the previous update 241111 where short clips were introduced.
It is interesting that the reply to this post contains an 'Article' on 9/1/25 which expounds the benefits of short clips.
If this was considered so good, why did we go back to long clips?
Then, in the post following, on 27/3/25, it is explained that update 250228 will:
1. Continue long clips (1 minute after detection ends) if recording to an SD card, and
2. Use short clips (10 seconds after delection ends) if recording to a hub.
So its OK to save space on the hub but not on the camera SD card?
It also implies that short clips are perfectly acceptable for storage.
All of this seems to support the case for an option of short clips for the camera SD card.

Based on the feedback we've received so far, some users prefer longer videos while others don't. Therefore, if this remains a default setting rather than an adjustable option, there will always be individuals who wish it were different. So my suggestion is to make this a feature option, allowing users to select their preferred recording buffer time.
If you have TC41 that are still in the old version 1.3.1 Build 241111 Rel.29618n, consider not updating this device, disable auto-update.
On the latest firmware, if the videos are saved to camera's sd card, the record buffer follows the old rule -- 1 min. If the videos are stored on the Tapo hub, the record buffer will be 10s.

If configurable recording time lengths are required then please up-vote my post at the link given below.
I am in the camp of actually wanting the option of longer recording times, so having these configurable seems the only way forward. I explain my reasons in the post below.
To try and satisfy both sets of users using firmware changes is madness. These times need to be configurable.
