Hi Good day.

Did anyone have power outlet outdoor but with roof its like a terrace.
Should the power adapter included in the Tapo C500 be used or plug outdoor as it might be too hot here in the philippines.
Any suggestion please.

Hi,
I found some information online regarding power adapters exposed to direct sunlight, and hope it will be helpful to you.

The power adapter generates heat during operation due to the conversion of electrical energy. When exposed to direct sunlight, which serves as an external heat source, the temperature of the power adapter can rise even further. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid direct sunlight on the power adapter while it is in use to ensure optimal performance and prevent overheating.
Additionally, keeping the adapter in a well-ventilated area can help dissipate heat more effectively, further enhancing its longevity and efficiency.

Best Regards

Hi,
It's not recommended to plug our camera's power adapter outdoors since it's not waterproof, and using it outdoors may damage it.
Best Regards

Hi,
As you can see on the Tapo C500 V1's specifications page, the Operating Temperature of the camera and power adapter is -30℃~60℃. Usually, we don't recommend plugging the power adapter into the socket with direct sunlight.
Best Regards
