Model: Tapo C320WS
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.2

Dear TP-Link Community,

I am experiencing intermittent disconnections with my three Tapo C320WS cameras when utilizing multiple RTSP streams. The first camera operates without issues; however, upon connecting additional cameras, the subsequent ones frequently disconnect for varying durations, ranging from a few seconds to several minutes, before the RTSP stream re-establishes connection.

Observations:

  • The first camera maintains a stable RTSP connection without any problems.
  • Additional cameras (second and beyond) exhibit random disconnections after being connected.
  • Disconnections occur at unpredictable times, with the RTSP stream returning automatically after a brief period.

I would appreciate any insights or recommendations from the community to address these disconnection issues effectively. Your assistance is invaluable in achieving a stable and reliable multi-camera RTSP streaming setup.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Justin

Hi,
Please confirm the following information for the unstable RTSP stream issue.

  1. Please describe your network diagram, such as internet--router-- PC, and )))cameras, etc. What's the model number of the router?

  2. What third-party app do you use to stream the cameras via RTSP protocol? Do you install the app on a PC? Do you establish the RTSP connections with the cameras on the same third-party app?

  3. Does a specific camera have a stable RTSP connection, or is it stable no matter which camera first establishes the RTSP connection?

  4. Have you established the RSTP connections with different cameras on different third-party apps, such as one camera uses VLC and one uses iSpy? Then check if the RTSP connections are stable.

@Solla-topee

Please find below the requested information regarding the unstable RTSP stream issue:

  1. Network Diagram & Router Model:
The network setup consists of an internet connection, followed by a router, and then three cameras. The router model is JiOAirFiber JIDU6801.

  2. Third-Party Streaming Application:
I attempted to stream the RTSP feed using VLC Player, but only the first camera works consistently. The second camera connects briefly but eventually disconnects and does not reconnect. The application is installed on a PC, and all RTSP connections are established through the same third-party application.

  3. RTSP Connection Stability:
The RTSP connection is stable regardless of which camera is connected first.

  4. RTSP Connections on Different Applications:
All RTSP connections are currently established on the same camera. The RTSP stream remains stable for the first camera that connects, but the remaining cameras frequently disconnect.

Additionally, SD card recordings are functioning properly, and the cameras are not rebooting. The issue is specifically related to the RTSP stream's stability.

Please let me know if you require any further details.

Best regards,

Hi,
1. Are the cameras connected to the router's Wi-Fi?
2. Could you please explain that "All RTSP connections are currently established on the same camera."? Thanks!
Best Regards

Hi,

1. Yes of course all the cameras are connected to the same WiFi

2. That was a typo, what I meant was all cameras are connected to the same network.
