Tapo Bulbs Reset Too Easily - Needs a Fix!
I have a serious issue with Tapo smart bulbs that I'm sure many others are facing. The factory reset being triggered by flipping the switch three times is a terrible design choice.
I have small children who sometimes play with the light switch, and every time they do it too quickly, the bulb resets itself and loses all its settings. This means I have to set it up again from scratch, which is incredibly frustrating.
There should be a better way to reset these bulbs... maybe a dedicated button or a more intentional on/off combination that isn’t so easy to trigger by accident. As it stands, this design flaw makes the bulbs more of a hassle than a smart home convenience.
Unless TP-Link addresses this with a software update, I’m done with Tapo bulbs. A smart device shouldn’t be this easy to break with normal household use.
Has anyone found a workaround for this, or is TP-Link planning to fix it?
