Model: Tapo C410
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have two properties. What I'd like to do is leave property no 1 and turn on all notifications for that property and then go to property no2 and turn off all notifications there.

I can't work out how to set this up in the app. I have set up two groups but can't work out how to turn off notifications only for each group.

The "Home" and "Away" buttons appear to control ALL cameras, not those in the groups.

I thought of creating two accounts, one for each property, but have found if I am logged out of an account, I don't get any notifications at all.

Is there a way of turning off all notifications at once from one "room" only?

@ Wayne,

Thanks for that. Having a good explore of the app, if I go Me>Notifications>Management>Notifications, my camera (and movement sensor, whch I'm also wanting to control) is listed there, so it looks like I can manually switch off the notifications there, admittedly each one at a time. That will suffice for the time being.

Oh well, I've worked it out. I had a think about what "Privacy" mode actually does: it effectively turns the camera off ie no notifications.

So that means that, because I can enable or disable Privacy mode for each camera indivdually using the shortcut feature, I can achieve my aim (because the "sensors" notifications can also be controlled using a Shortcut).

I do note that the Shortcut buttons show a tick for only a couple of seconds then go back to their resting state ie no indication that that buton was the last pressed.

I'd therefore still like to suggest that a indicator be place on the button to show it was the last pressed.

You could use Automations - Let me know if you want specific detail but here they are:

      1. Turn on notifications for cameras x y z (where you are not) and turn off notifications for cameras a b c (where you are now) - IMPORTANT - you must set multiple actions controlling each individual camera for the notification option to come up

      2. Vice Versa.

You could set the trigger to the Automations a shortcut which you add to your home screen.

Hope this works!

@ igoboom,

Thanks very much for that tip. I'll investigate Automation.

Cheers, Toomanyrooms

So far, the home/away mode is the only method to control the camera notification on multiple devices at the same time. *Camera notification can't be controlled through notification.

To meet your needs, you will need two phones. If you use an Android phone, consider utilizing the dual-apps function if supported.

Yes that's also a simpler and more workable method when the one-clip control isn't available.

I've had a good look at the Home and Away buttons and it appears that I can set some camera's notifications to "On" and some to "Off" for either setting. I currently only have one camera but will try this.

The home & away mode feature can only provide two different sets of settings for the camera.

Do you need the camera notification to be on for both locations at the same time? In this case, at least three modes are required -- change and restore settings:

  1. A on, B off
  2. A on, B on
  3. A off, B on

*A and B refer to the location. 'on' and 'off' refer to camera notification.

With the home and away mode, you can only do the '1' and '3'.

1 and 3 will be fine for my purposes. Thanks!

On Home and Away, is there any way of knowing what mode you're in? There doesn't appear to be any visual indication on the buttons.

Also, it appears that the Home and Away setting overrides the Me>Notifications>Manage On/Off switches. Is that correct?

The home/away mode is actually a one-click control shortcut, it does not have an on/off status. This feature only controls the camera notification, it cannot overwrite the notification settings on the Me page. So make sure you've restore device's notification permissions there before using the home/away mode.
