Model: Tapo C320WS
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.2

After updating both my C320WS to firmware version 1.2.2 they keep disconnecting intermittently now. They are still connected to WiFi so I am able to reboot them. Once rebooted I can see the live feed again. That once a while they will do the same thing, eventually disconnecting again. Before this firmware update they were on 24/7 running without any issues for weeks, until firmware update. I have tried everything. This is so irritating.

  @Sammy2023

Hi,
Please confirm the following information about the reported issue.

  1. What's the LED status on the camera when the issue happens? Do you mean you can see the camera displays the online status on the Tapo app but can't watch its live feed when the issue happens? If the camera is displayed offline on the Tapo app, how do you reboot it?

  2. Please ensure the Tapo app is up to date.

  3. What's the model number of your router? If you reboot the router and change the DNS server on it, will the camera work fine?

Best Regards

Hi,
You can power off the camera and power on it and check if the LED state on the camera changes. If not, it's recommended to press the camera's reset button for 10 seconds to factory reset it and check if the LED state changes.
Best Regards

I have done all this. The wireless router in question is the Nighthawk R8000. Prior to the firmware upgrade both cameras where on for days even weeks without a reboot. After they both upgraded it's firmware now they both continue to disconnect at random. I have not changed any of my network settings after or prior to firmware upgrade. Everything was running fine. I know that the new firmware introduce some changes to the network settings. Now both my cameras are acting up. Is there a way I can downgrade firmware to my last good firmware.

The camera loses the viewing screen/ live feed in the Tapo app and surveillance station, however it's still connected to my network, so I'm able to reboot it that way or just powering off the camera also works. I don't understand prior to firmware upgrade both cameras worked beautifully.

Hi,
We do not have the instructions to downgrade the camera's firmware, and we will locate and solve the issue in the latest firmware.

When you are unable to watch the camera's live feed, how about the LED status on the camera? Is the camera displayed online on the Tapo app?

It's recommended to check if there are special settings on your router for the camera, such as parental control, access control, firewall settings, etc. If so, remove these settings for a try.

If the problem remains, please refer to the following instructions to collect the camera log for further analysis.
How to get the log of Tapo Camera

Hi,
It's suggested to power on the camera with the original power adapter and power cable from the package that comes with the camera, remove the SD card from the camera, and then press the reset button on the camera for 10 seconds to factory reset it.

If the LED is still blinking red and then green in a loop, it's recommended to contact your retailer or our local team to check if the camera is under warranty.

Best Regards
