Description
When the above camera model is installed in a mesh WiFi network, it may experience disconnection issues, such as:
- WiFi disconnection - disconnecting from WiFi or switching connection between different mesh access points (AP)
or
- Cloud disconnection - the camera disconnects from the cloud and cannot be accessed remotely (local only). The camera's led indicator usually turns to solid orange in this state.
Workaround
The R&D team will continue to optimize camera's connection performance in the mesh network.
Meanwhile, a beta firmware with relevant modifications is available to enhance camera connection in a mesh WiFi network. If you would like to try the beta firmware, refer to the guidance below.
How to Apply Beta Firmware
Send a private message to @Wayne-TP or @Solla-topee with the following information.
- Model and Mac address of the camera
- Model of your router
- Brief description of the problem, share more details if you observed anything noticeable or patterned phenomenons.
Before the Upgrade
(1) Please be sure you have read the Beta Test Agreement before upgrading the Pre-release firmware!
(2) How to update the firmware of the Tapo devices on the Tapo App
(3) Firmware downgrade is not supported. When a new official version is released, updating it will overwrite the beta version.
