Camera stuck after failed firmware update, reset impossible
I have a TP-Link Tapo C510W camera that started having poor Wi-Fi reception after I switched to a new router. I repeatedly tried to perform a firmware update, but it failed each time - even after I moved the camera closer to the router. Despite the failed updates, live video and controls still worked in the Tapo app.
I then removed the camera from the Tapo app in an attempt to reset it. However, that didn’t work. After waiting a bit, I unplugged the camera and plugged it back in, but now it immediately goes into Privacy Mode. I still have a camera account linked to my Synology Surveillance Station, so I can see the feed there, but there’s no way to turn off Privacy Mode or trigger a proper reset. Pressing or holding the reset button (even for 10 seconds) has no effect.
How can I fully reset the camera so I can set it up again? Any suggestions or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated.
