Tablet or phone?
Sunday - last edited Monday
Model: Tapo D230S1
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I intend to buy and install a Tapo Doorbell D230S1, connecting it to an existing home Wi-Fi network.  Do I actually need to use a phone to set it up, or can it be done with just a tablet and the TAPO app?  i.e. Does anything (e.g. notifications) need a phone signal or can it all be installed and operated by Wi-Fi?

I only intent to store locally on an SD-Card in the hub and not subscribe.

Thanks

Any mobile device that can download a Tapo app works, mobile phone is not a 'must' to use the Tapo doorbell.

Once the doorbell is set up properly, you can watch and manage the doorbell in the Tapo app on any mobile device by logging into your TP-Link account, of course, the mobile device should have internet access. Local management is also supported if you need to connect the doorbell to a network that does not have internet access.
