D230S1 - No motion detection at all
Hi all,
I just acquired the above doorbell camera along with an H200 Hub, into which I have inserted a new Sandisk 64GB MicroSD Card, duly formatted.
I have set everything up and installed the doorbell camera near my front door and can access a live view of my house entry area. The camera also wakes when the doorbell button is pressed, and instant notification of this is sent to me via my iPhone 13. A video recording of the event is logged and stored. My wife also receives notification.
However, I cannot get the camera to wake via the PIR sensor, or register motion or person detection, no matter what I do.
Moreover, when the camera is already active (say, due to me viewing the live view, and the status LED is lit up green) motion is still not detected and no notification of movement is sent if I walk around in front of the camera.
I have tried walking across and back in front of the field of view (as I'm aware the PIR sensor requires movement across it's range to work), and moving my hand across in front of the sensor at varying distances, but nothing happens.
In respect of settings on the app, I have set the wake up setting to 'Event Detected' and wake up sensitivity is at '10'. I have set the detection zones for all except Package Detection to the full field of view, and all sensitivities to '10'. I have also tried just setting Motion Detection on, at full sensitivity, but it still doesn't register movement.
Privacy zones is toggled Off. Battery is fully charged. Notifications is 'On' for all activity types.
I have tried removing and reinstalling the camera and the hub, and have rebooted the hub a few times. I have also rebooted my router. The Tapo firmware and the App are both up to date.
Also, I have tried changing the Clip Settings as indicated in one of the FAQ's about Notifications, but this made no difference.
In a nutshell, the camera has never shown any signs that the PIR sensor is working and I think it's DOA.
As a last resort before returning the unit, I wanted to ask if anyone has any ideas? It's as if the sensor has a cover over it!
Thanks,
Stuey
