Hello

 

I have two Tapo C310 cams at my summerhouse (outside) connected with ethernet cable directly to the router and one C110 (inside) connected with WiFi.

Both the C310, they periodically goes offline, this seems only to happen at night and I have to wait to the next night where they reboot to see them online again in the morning.

Apparently there is no problem with the C110 and also with other devices connected to the router via WiFi, like the Tapo smart hub and the heatpump.

It's only the two C310, that have this issue.

 

It seems that the nightly reboot, fails periodically to get the C310 back online, but they must be still "active" in the background, since they are able to get back online the next night, probably after the reboot.

It doesn't look, that they are recording, while they are "offline". But I have to test this, by setting them to record 24/7 and see if there is some footage recorded while they are offline.

They are both recording to SD-card directly.

 

Any suggestions to fix, this apparently reboot and after not online problem?

Hi,
On the Tapo app > camera's Device Settings > Reboot Camera page, if the Auto Reboot feature is disabled, please enable it and set a Reboot time after the camera goes offline, then check if it helps.

Hello.

The reboot Is already enabled.

It seems, that it goes offline because of the reboot. But not after each reboot, it's random and it comes back online after the next reboot 24 hours later.

The cam works fine when offline, it records events as normal.

I tried now to turn off the reboot on one of the cam that did it most, and it's been online since.

I will try to give a static LAN IP to one of the 310 with reboot turned on and see what it does.

 

But it's strange.

Hi,
Since the detection and recording feature works even without internet connection, it's normal that they work when the camera displays offline on the Tapo app.

 

Typically, reboot the camera won't cause it to disconnect to the internet. In your situation, thank you for your attempt, if the problem remains, you can also try to reboot the router and check if the camera will work then. Or you can disable the Reboot feature on your other camera either.
