Model: Tapo C200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.16 Build 240909 Rel. 37802n(4555)
Good morning,

I own a Tapo C200 video camera, Hardware version 1.0, MAC address ....
I accidentally made the mistake of updating the firmware to version 1.3.16 Build 240909 Rel. 37802n(4555).

I'm using the camera within an NVR system called Zoneminder. After the firmware update, the PTZ commands of the NVR system no longer work.
I tried to restore the camera to the original firmware using Tapo_C200v1_en_1.1.16_Build_211209_Rel.37726n_up_boot-signed.bin firmware.

I followed the firmware downgrade procedure: format an SD card in fat32, copy the old firmware file onto the SD card and rename it as factory_up_boot.bin. Then inserted the SD card into the slot and waited for the FW update.
After few seconds the camera starts to blink with gren light and after 1 seconds it becomes fixed red.

Would you be so kind as to support and help me to solve the issue ?
Thank you, kind regards

  @Talb

Hi,
1. We do not have the instructions to downgrade the firmware. Usually, we will release new firmware to help solve the problem if it's confirmed caused by the firmware.

2. In your situation, do the LED changes on the camera when pressing the reset button for 10 seconds? If so, please describe the LED changes in detail.

Best Regards

hi Solla,

the procedure to downgrade the firmware exists. I described it in my previous post.

I already used it to downgrade the firmware for 4 TAPO C200 cameras I have.

The same procedure is not working for the fiftth camera (the one I described in my first post). I don't know why. It was the only cameras with a different firmware,

I already tried to reset the camera. The reset went well and the camera is working.

The issue is that it still remain not possible for that camera to downgrade the firmware.

As I told I'm using the camera within an NVR system called Zoneminder. After the firmware update, the PTZ commands of the NVR system no longer work.

Downgrading the firmware for 4 cameras I solved the issue, they are responding to PTZ commamds in Zoneminder.

The only one camera not responding to PTZ Zoneminder's commands is the camera for which is not possibile to downgrade the firmware (with the original firmware it was responding to PTZ Zoneminder's commands).

thanks michele
