Model: Tapo C410 KIT
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

My site is under non internet condition. I bought this device is to catch out any motion / event triggered at 3 am to 7 am every day. But I am pretty confused that the cctv can capture the motion video at 2 am and even 2 am, under wifi condition.
However, when there's no active internet connection, there is no motion / event video being recorded into the SD card. What I had expected/hoped is that the camera would start recording to the SD card after detecting motion as usual even under non internet condition.

Unfortunately, this did not happen. When I playback thru the Tapo apps, there is no recorded video as well ont his time frame.

Even worse, there was no motion event shown on the timeline at the time when it should have been recorded.
FYI, I select all time all day for detetion recording.

So I wonder why the camera seems to be incapable to detect/record motion when it is not connected to the internet.
Pls look into this issue. This function is very important to me and that is the point I purchase this device rather than others.

This doesn't seem normal. Did you test whether the detection and recording feature works properly when the internet access is still available?

Is the camera video set to be saved on the camera's own SD card or on the H200 hub's SD card?

To the TP-Link Team, As a dedicated user of Tapo cameras, I truly appreciate the security and peace of mind they provide. However, I believe there is one crucial feature missing that would significantly enhance the user experience: Offline Notifications for Tapo cameras. Why this feature matters: 1. Security Assurance: An offline camera could indicate power or network issues—or worse, tampering. Users need to know immediately to take action. 2. Peace of Mind: Without offline alerts, users may remain unaware of potential gaps in surveillance, defeating the purpose of having a security camera. 3. Industry Standard: Offline notifications are a basic feature in many smart home ecosystems and are critical to maintaining trust in connected devices. How it could work: • Notify users via the Tapo app the moment a camera goes offline. • Provide troubleshooting tips within the app to help resolve the issue. • Optionally, allow users to customize the notification delay to prevent false alarms due to brief outages. Adding this feature would align Tapo cameras with user expectations for smart security systems and reinforce TP-Link’s reputation for innovation and reliability. We, your loyal customers, kindly request that you prioritize this feature in a future app update. Thank you for considering our feedback! Sincerely, Nithin
