I'd like a function included on the T100 Tapo Smart Motion Sensor to alert when NO motion is detected for 12 hours (current limit is no motion for 60 minutes).

 

We are using the sensor to support an elderly relative to maintain independence in her own home. We don't want to use cameras as it is important to her to maintain her privacy (she doesn't need us seeing what she is up to). We want to check that she is moving around but more importantly to be alerted if she is NOT moving around for an extended period. The sensor is in a location we know she moves past regularly throughout the day. 

 

We are supporting this by using Tapo Smart Button S200B which are set to send an alert if activated. These we are placing around the home for her to access if she can't get to the phone.

Hello, i believe this can be done with automation as follows: 1. Create an automation to trigger when any movement sensor is triggered, i.e in the "when" conditions 2. Once triggered perform the following actions: - Delay 3:59:59 (this is the max delay time). Execute this action 3 times to make 12 hours - add an action to send a notification "no movement for 12 hours" Every time the automation sensors movement it restarts the 12 hour wait.. and it will continue to do this until you disable it. Note i have not tested this but expect it will work based on my knowlege and experience writing my own automations. Good luck.

  @Rbuck Hey. Thanks so much for that suggestion. That works a treat too! I'm so grateful that your experience was able to assist me! Now, I have the two methods set up on my sensor. Between the two methods, and using tapo buttons as emergency notifications we as a family can feel much more comfortable with my mother-in-law living independently.
