Recently a C402 camera disappeared from the app with no warning or explanation. It is a C402 from a 'TP-Link 𝗧𝗮𝗽𝗼 SolarCam C402 Kit', purchased and put into service in August 2024. I don't know the hardware or firmware version since I can't access the camera. My phone indicates that the TP-Link Tapo app was updated three days ago so I'm hoping this is just a glitch that was introduced by the recent update.

 

This camera is installed on the exterior of a house which I own but do not currently occupy on the other side of the country from where I currently reside. I asked a neighbor to check for the presence of the camera and it is still there exactly as I left it.

 

Please advise.

Hi,
You can try the following steps if the camera disappears from the app suddenly.
1. Make sure you have logged in Tapo app with the correct TP-Link account(in email format) that was used to configure the camera.
2. Please delete the Tapo app and reinstall it, ensure the Tapo app is up to date.
3. Reboot the camera for a try.

 

If the problem remains, please confirm the following information for further analysis.
1. The LED status on the camera.
2. Find the MAC address of the camera. If you have the box that comes with the camera, please try to find the MAC address on the box.
