I notice that a new firmware version is available.  Has anyone installed it?  Does it fix the issue?  The description of the update is pretty useless and I'm nervous about doing another one given the issues from previous updates.

  @JS400 I agree, it really can't be that difficult and will solve the missed event issues many users are currently experiencing.

I urge all people who want this configuration change and who are reading this,  to 'upvote' this thread for more visibility.

  @AABBCC_CCBBAA I wonder what are they are waiting for add this feature, it's very essential; and is as easy as add some variables and conditionals. Period. But it seems that tapo doesn't care for their users needs. This way they only gonna get bad reviews in return and disappointed customers. I was going to buy more devices, but now after of see how they work, I'll check the dahua stuff or something else.

  @HellishVictor  If you haven't already done this (and this goes for anyone following this thread), at the top left of the Web page there is a vote button.  There are currently 8 votes for this idea, click on it to add your vote.  The more there are, the more likely they'll add the feature.

  @JS400

Hi,

I won't be upgrading to this version.

What concerns me is that it says about this firmware in the "What's new" section, that there is "Improved compatibility with ONVIF clients"

The original issue of recordings being shortened was done so that video clips could be more easily be saved to cloud services (by being shorter).

I would be concerned that similar is done in 1.3.3 for ONVIF compatibility (having Googled what ONVIF is).

  @AABBCC_CCBBAA

I'm thinking better ONVIF support is a good thing as that relates to a standard for device communication which would make devices compatible with different manufacturers.  I didn't see anything in the notes about a fix for the stupidly short recordings but wondered if it may have been incorporated.

I guess I'll have to keep waiting, I just wish they'd hurry up as this product isn't performing now.

  @JS400 I have installed the 1.3.3 update and, in my case, it has resolved the issue. I was given a temporary fix and was wary of updating it, but it is fine. Stays on for 3 minutes now while the action is ongoing, and I haven't noticed any issues.
