Configurable Time for Recording length following Detection of Movement or Person (C510W)

It would be useful to have the length of time the camera records after a detection configurable.
At the moment if a car drives into my driveway the camera will record the event and follow the car away from the camera's "home" position.
If the car sits in another part of my property for several minutes the camera will no longer detect movement and return to its home position.
At this point the car and person in it are outside the field of view because the camera has already stopped recording and returned to its home position.
So that I can see if said person exits the car and then smashes in my front door, I would like to be able to capture such an event. This could be achieved by allowing me to configure the length of time the camera records after the initial detection without the camera returning to the home position.
So, to achieve this two things are required:-
1. The time for continued recording after a movement detection should be able to be configured.
2. If the time above is configured then the camera should stay in the same position (unless it's tracking movement away from the current field of view) for this length of time without returning to the home positon.

Hi All,
I have been in direct communication with support about this issue. I won't paste the whole sage, but to summarise I paste the last correspondence below.
They have released to me a firmware fix which will fix the short recording issue. This fix will he incorporated in the next 1.3.2 release.
I suggest that if you need this fix urgently that you log a ticket with support.forum@tp-link.com.
I have continued to push for a configurable time period, but ironically they shortened the record time for the benefit of those using Hub. I pointed out that this affects all users, the majority of which do not use Hub.
--- From Support---
Currently, your firmware version 1.3.1 Build 250103 Rel.63715n is a special version. The upcoming release of 1.3.2 will include the current solutions. We have received your suggestion, but we will need to consider its implementation in future versions. Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks for the reply and information. It is appreciated. It is annoying having to put up with a camera that cuts off before the action ends, so I may ask them for support. Is it a pain to do?
Thanks again.

Hi,
What's the model number, firmware, and hardware version of your camera? Do you store the video recordings in the inserted SD card?
Best Regards

When I originally complained about the issue TP sent me a firmware fix. Although a slight improvement I am still missing events. I have asked numerous times for the app to be able to configure the length of time before the camera returns to the home position and configure the length of time after movement detection ceases. This would allow users like you and me to capture the events we need, and those users who are worried about the amount of data being written to the cloud, could configure this time to be shorter.
I have been told that the reason the firmware now shortens this record time is because there are a few users who were affected by data being lost on long recordings when this was written to the cloud. It seems madness to make a firmware change which affects all users for the sake of the few having issues. Much better to have this time period configurable.
I won't be holding my breath waiting for that enhancement!
