Hi everyone,

I recently purchased the TP-Link Kasa KE100 smart thermostat, and I'm having trouble installing it on my radiator. The valve on my radiator appears to be a Danfoss RAV (update: RA-N!) type, but none of the included adapters in the Kasa KE100 package seem to fit properly.

The issue is that the valve stem is longer (about 1 or 2 cm longer than standard), so the thermostat cannot fully cover it. I’ve read that a special adapter might be needed to accommodate the longer valve stem, but I’m unsure which one to get or where to find it. The valve itself has a 1/2 inch thread.

Could you recommend a specific adapter for installing the Kasa KE100 on a Danfoss RAV (update: RA-N) valve? Any links or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

This seems to be the installed valve: https://www.bauhaus.info/heizkoerperventile/danfoss-heizkoerper-ventileinsatz/p/23542101

Here a photo of the valve on my radiator:

It turns out that the valve shown in the foto above is indeed the RA-N type, and the adapter I ordered fits perfectly, as shown in the attached photos.

If you're looking for this adapter, you can find it online by searching for something like "RA-N 23 mm to M30 x1.5 adapter."

Thanks again and good luck to other RA-N users ;) !

If it is a Danfoss RAV valve, then it should work with KE100 with an RAV adapter. Check this compatibility guide for more details. Kasa Smart Thermostat Radiator Valve Compatibility Guide

Thank you very much for your helpful overview of valves and adapters. I studied it thoroughly, and I now believe the Danfoss valve on my radiator is of the RA-N type. This might explain why none of the delivered adapters fit.

I’ve just ordered an adapter for Danfoss RA-N 23 mm on M30-x1,5. I’ll post an update here once I’ve tested if it fits.
