Hello, I notice that the S200B button is not visible through Googlle home, (all other devices seem to be). Not sure if this is a bug or feature request. Can this please be resolved added. Thx

  @Rbuck

The smart button S200B is linked to Google/SmartThings via Matter; however, as far as I understand it, the Matter protocol does not yet support the device type "smart button," so this device will not be available on Matter platforms at this time.

For the latest updates to the product software, please follow the product firmware release note.

@Wayne-TP Matter does support smart buttons, they're called momentary switches and events include single press, long press, multiple press, etc. It's how IKEA, Hue and other brands bridge their smart buttons to Matter platforms and also how other native Matter scene controllers and buttons are implemented.

Right now the S200B is exposed to Matter as an OnOff and Level controller, meant to directly bind to Matter lights and control them instead of creating automations like "if button pressed". While it's a useful feature, bindings are not supported in most platforms and also limits the usage since you can't set automations to perform arbitrary actions with the buttons if you don't want to use them to control lights.

It probably would be better to expose the S200B as momentary switch in Matter, like other brands do, so it can be used in platforms like SmartThings, Apple Home or Home Assistant to set automations. If Tapo finally does this, it would be nice to expose the rotation events too and not just the main button, even if it's a minimalistic approach (map each direction rotating action to a pressed button event).

@Wayne-TP Thanks, I was hoping you could send feedback to the dev team so they add support for the Switch cluster. They don't even need to remove the current OnOff and Level clusters, those two can be useful for people who want to bind them to smart lights. The Switch cluster is needed to run automations in SmartThings, Apple Home, Home Assistant and other Matter platforms that support smart buttons since it's the way they recognize the button events.

Current inability of TAPO S200B to integrate properly with major automation ecosystems significantly limits its usage. Hardware-wise, the S200B is superior to many other similar smart button products, and exposing its action properties to platforms like Home Assistant would make it much more attractive to the home automation community.

@Wayne-TP

I love the Tapo S200B, but not having Matter support is killing me. This button has so much potential, yet it’s stuck in limbo while other brands are already offering full integration. Home Assistant, SmartThings, Apple Home—none of them can use it properly right now.

Please, just add Matter support and expose it as a momentary switch so we can actually use it for automation. Right now, it’s like having a sports car with no gas—so much power, but going nowhere.

If there’s any way to push this up the priority list, please make it happen!
