Hi all!

My first post here!

I've recently purchased and installed a C720 Floodlight camera to keep an eye on the loading bay at the office.

It has been installed for a few hours now, and at complete random intervals, the camera displays white/grey lines across the image making it completely useless!?

I've found that changing frame rates will kick it back into life, but shortly after it will start to show the lines again.

Power line frequency is set to auto though I have tried on both 50 & 60Hz, I've gone through all other settings and can not find anything in there that could help/cause it? Rebooting the device also cures it for a short time.

I'm curious if this is a software glitch or a fault with the camera?

I have the diagnostics enabled should anyone request the logs.

Thank you!

Interesting,  I have these floodlight cameras installed, and I have never seen images like that.

The top image looks like corrugated red, plastic sheeting for a roof.  The bottom image looks like some sort of interference with the Wi-Fi signal.

Tap the top right button to get into Device Settings.  On Network Connection, tap the Wi-Fi image to read the RSSI signal.  What does it read?

I know this might sound ridiculous, but did you remove the protective, plastic film covering the lens.  It is hard to notice this at first when the mechanism is taken out of the box.

Hi,
Please uninstall your Tapo app and go to Google Play/App Store to download and install the latest Tapo app, then check if it helps.

You can also refer to the instructions below to check if these tips are helpful.
What to do if the Tapo Camera image color is abnormal?

Best Regards

Hi  @WSC4

thank you for your reply!

I don't believe it is a WiFi issue, as I have an SD card installed and this shows the image flick over from normal to grey lines during the playing back. I've been trying to upload the video of this without much luck.

As regarding the plastic covering, yes this was removed during installation, as I only just notice it covering the lense!

just an FYI, WiFi RSSI is -64

  @Solla-topee

I have 15 other Tapo devices without any app issues, I doubt this will resolve anything, as the issues are with the camera itself, not the application.

Hi,
You can try these steps if you have not tried them, this will help us to further analyze the issue even if they do not solve it.
And if the problem remains, would you please send us pictures of the camera's live view page when the floodlight is on and off?
Best Regards
