Tapo D235 video doorbell Power Options
Tapo D235 video doorbell Power Options

Hi,
I will receive my new D235 today, but I have two questions.
It should be hard-wired, like my existing Nest and with 24/7 recording (probably via ONVIF/RTSP to my Unifi Protect and/or on SDCard).
1.) Can It be directly connected to the transfomer (Model with 12V/2A or 24V/1A) without looping through the old chime (it's useless anyway, with the necessary shortcut it won't work) so why not connect directly?
2.) Is it possible to remove the battery and power it really just over the hard-wired transformer supply?
The reason for this: The doorbell is in direct sunlight and it will get extremely hot during summer - not the best combination with a battery (and I don't need it at all, it's hard-wired)...
Is it possible?
THANX!

@Wayne-TP I am interested in your response here. All the collateral I have seen is that the Tapo D235 requires an AC input not DC. Im not an expert in eletronics but are you saying that the doorbell doesnt care? That I could use a DC input as long as it the voltage is 10V-24V and the minimal power is 10VA?

Device's hardware allows either AC or DC input. For detailed product specifications, refer to its Datasheet.
