Model: HS200
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.0.3

Just want to confirm if new HS200 switches (I got 3 pack v5.26 and updated to firmware 1.0.3 after installation). I udnerstamd that new switches require authentication when connecting to home assistant. However, these switches do not connect to home assistant at all and keep on giving authentication errors. I want to confirm if others are also experiencing this issue before returning the switches. If this is indeed the case these switches are no longer usable for anyone using Home Assistant/openHAB etc. and would like to advice people to stay from kasa/tapo devices. I have about 25 older generation switches which are working fine and new switches are working normally from the app. Just would not connect to HA.

I just bought some of these and have the same issue. They want a TP-Link login, which I provided, but they won't authenticate. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Same here. It has wrecked my home automation. None of my Kasa devices work now. Everthing wants to be authenticated. I would use the Kasa app to do it, but it UI for any tasks is garbage.
