Tapo S220 – Separation of Physical Buttons from Outputs
I have a feature request to enhance the flexibility of S220.
Currently, the S220 is “hardcoded” with the left button physically linked to output A and the right button to output B. While this basic functionality works, it limits potential use cases.
I would like to propose a feature where the physical buttons and outputs are decoupled in the app interface. Ideally, each button could be represented independently in the app, as well as each output, similar to the configuration of smart plugs.
This would allow users to program the buttons for more customizable functions. For example, one button could alternate the “on” state between outputs (to create a staircase switch mode), while the other button could control a different smart device, such as a smart plug. (In another words I want to control what happens when I press a button - now the only option is to trigger the built in switch/relay)
The default setting could maintain the current behavior where the left button triggers output/relay A and the right button triggers output/relay B, but having this as an adjustable configuration would greatly expand the device’s versatility.
