Tapo c520ws not returning to it's default position after motion tracking
Tapo c520ws not returning to it's default position after motion tracking
Unfortunately both of my Tapo c520ws camera's do not return to its original position after motion tracking.
What I did to try to solve it:
- disabled motion tracking, reboot the camera, set the camera to the desired position, enabled motion tracking
- pan/tilt correction
- set detection zones, remove detection zones
- changed default position
What else can I do? Reading om the forum the problem occurs on almost all camera's.

I’m experiencing a similar issue with my C520WS/A camera (Ver. 1.0, firmware 1.2.8), which I purchased in Japan a week ago. When I turn Privacy Mode OFF, the camera doesn’t return to its default position, so I have to manually adjust it using the Pan & Tilt function each time. The camera is installed at an angle between two walls, but when Privacy Mode is OFF, it almost always points towards one of the walls.
Is it possible for me to try the new firmware that seems to have resolved the issue for another user? Or, will there be an official firmware update released soon to address this problem?
Thanks

Hi,
It seems your problem is different from the one reported on this thread. Does the camera's position after turning off the privacy mode differ from the one when you turn on the privacy mode?

Mmm, the camera is now behaving as it should (it keeps staying/returning to the default position after switching between Privacy mode ON and OFF.). It's strange, because it's the first time that it works normally since I installed it and required assistance with my post.
But, the other problem which I reported today in an other post remains, that is the camera keeps activating the person identification alarm even when the Alarm setting is on OFF.

@Solla-topee I seem to have the same problem, seems to if the camera tracks them and they then disappear, sometimes returns, sometimes not. Could you send me the update please?

@Solla-topee I also have this issue, was worried this was expected behaviour. Do you know when the firmware fix will be pushed to all users?

Hi,
It's suggested to start a new thread to report the new issue, and please explain what's the "person identification alarm". Thanks!

Hi,
We do not have the information on when an official firmware will be released to solve this issue, but I'll forward the cases to the relevant team to push them to release the firmware as soon as possible.
If you want to try the beta firmware, refer to the steps here.
