Hi, the camera was working fine, now it's losing connection and blinking red after a few hours. It also appears as disconnected on the tapo app.

I have a tp link ax55 router and every other device (not that I have too many connected) works fine.

To quickly fix it I have to replug the power adapter, it will work for a few hours and then it will disconnect from wifi again.

I tried resetting twice, first deleting the device from the app and readding it and nothing, second time I presed the reset button on the camera for 10s for a factory reset. Issue is still there.

Tried changing channels setting on my router and nothing, I even tried the "IoT network" that wasn't being used on my router and still nothing. Everything just works for a few hours then goes offline.

Is there a solution for this, or is my device faulty?

  @KAFE

Hi,
Typically, you can refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot the offline issue.
What should I do if my Tapo smart device keeps losing connection or going Offline?

If the problem remains, please confirm the following information.
  1. When the camera is working, please go to the Tapo app > camera's Device Settings > Device Info page, tap the Wi-Fi icon, and send me the RSSI value.

  2. Ensure the router's 2.4G Wi-Fi name is different from the 5G. If they are the same, change the 2.4G or 5G Wi-Fi name for a try.

  3. Try to enable a hotspot Wi-Fi on your phone or enable the Wi-Fi on another router if you have one, factory reset the camera, reconfigure it, connect it to the new Wi-Fi network, and check if it will work.

  4. When did you buy the camera?

Best Regards

  @Solla-topee

I have the same problem, got my new TAPO C520 WS last 3 months and for the first month it worked perfect on the same spot where now I am unable to get it connected to the internet.

The Wired connection works perfect, but wireless keeps disconnecting and every time I have to climb up and disconnect power for a reboot to get it back online. This is ridiculous !!

I have other TAPO cameras such as TAPO C320WS and they work perfect. I have different SSID for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz and all my TAPO cameras are on 2.4ghz.

Let me give you the RSSI

C320WS -67 (Works fine) -- Connected to Xtender RE450

C320WS -79 (works fine)  Connected to Xtender RE450

C320WS -55(works fine) Connected to Xtender RE300

C520WS -71 (does not work) Connected to Main Router C1200

Nothing has changed in the last couple of years on the network. The C520WS was working fine for more than a month and then the issue began. No firmware update pending.

  @HostNotFound

Hi,
The signal strength of the Tapo C520WS is weak. If it's away from the router, can it be connected to a range extender's Wi-Fi to get better signal strength and then check if it will work fine?
Best Regards
