Model: KE100 KIT
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I set up my first KE100 (Smart TRV) using the KASA hub .  I then noticed that the Tapo App had a KASA tab - so I logged the KASA hub into the Tapo App.

Unfortunately the Tapo App does not allow me to see my KE100 TRV - nor let me connect to any KE100 TRVs.

The KASA app still controls the existing TRV, but no longer shows the hub and will not allow me to connect further TRVs.

Clearly, one option is to remove the hub from the Tapo App and reconnect it to the KASA App.  However, I would like to centralise my smart devices (smart plugs & smart TRVs) into a single app.

Q: is there an upgrade planned for the Tapo app that will permit full control of my heating system?

Tapo app does not support Kasa KE100.

We have no information about future plans for the product. You can follow TP-Link official website, official community releases, or product/App update information to learn about new updates.

  @Wayne-TP

Yes, it does. I configured KH100 hub and KE100's in Kasa app first (in January) and then synced it to Tapo app in the latter's settings. I did not add or remove devices (hub, TRVs, thermometers) via Tapo app, though, just synced.

Looks like there's full feature parity for KE100 while Tapo's UI is much more compact and easier to use.

KE100 support is worse in Kasa than in Tapo. In Kasa you can't even see if the valve is open, which in Tapo is visible on the main screen. Unfortunately, Tp-Link has blocked KE100 support in Tapo and I have to use a very old version of the Tapo application (3.2.808), because the KE100 valves are only visible in it, they are not visible in the latest version for me. I don't know how they are still displayed to @Trobalabau even in the new version.

My setup seems to have ground to a stop, I added the Hub to KASA, then added two KE100s.  Now the hub has been removed from KASA and only shows in Tapo and I can't add my other 2 KE100s as the KASA app says I need a hub and like jeremy_barwell the Tapo app doesn't allow you to add them.  Come on TP-Link yourselves out.
